DealFury ("we", "our", "the extension") is a Chrome browser extension that detects and displays promotions and discounts on e-commerce sites. We are committed to protecting your privacy and personal data.

This privacy policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and what your rights are.

2. Data Collected

2.1 Browsing Data (local processing only)

• Product prices: current and original prices are read from visited e-commerce pages to calculate discounts. This data is processed locally in your browser.
• Product titles and images: used for display in the extension. Stored locally.
• Price history: prices are saved locally (chrome.storage) to track price evolution over time.

2.2 Account Data (registered users only)

• Email address: used for authentication and service-related communication.
• Preferences: notification settings, monitored sites, chosen theme.
• Watchlist: list of tracked products and configured price alerts.

2.3 Data NOT Collected

• We do not collect any general browsing history.
• We do not collect any payment data (payments are handled by Stripe).
• We do not collect any personally identifiable information beyond the email.
• We do not use any advertising tracking cookies.

3. Use of Data

We use your data exclusively to:

• Display promotions and discounts detected on e-commerce pages.
• Calculate and display product price history.
• Compare prices across different Amazon countries.
• Send price alert notifications (if enabled).
• Sync your preferences and watchlist across devices (registered users).
• Manage your subscription.

4. Data Storage

• Local data: prices, deals and preferences are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device. This data never leaves your browser unless you enable synchronisation.
• Cloud data (optional): if you create an account, your preferences and watchlist may be synchronised via Supabase (hosted in the EU). Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.

5. Data Retention

• Local data: retained as long as the extension is installed. Automatically deleted upon uninstallation.
• Account data: retained as long as your account is active. Deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
• Price history (cloud): retained for up to 365 days.
• Technical logs: no personally identifiable logs are kept server-side.

6. Cookies and Tracking

DealFury uses no cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting technologies. The extension works exclusively through chrome.storage (browser local storage) and secure API calls.

No third-party advertising or tracking technology is integrated in the extension.

7. Data Sharing

We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties, except:

• Stripe: for secure payment processing. Stripe has its own privacy policy.
• Supabase: for authentication and cloud storage (if you create an account). Hosted in the EU.
• Legal obligations: if required by law or court order.

8. Extension Permissions

DealFury requests the following permissions:

• storage: to save your deals and preferences locally.
• tabs: to detect the visited e-commerce site and display corresponding promotions.
• notifications: to send price alerts (if enabled).
• alarms: to periodically check prices of watchlisted products.
• host_permissions (Amazon): to compare prices across different Amazon countries.

9. Your Rights (GDPR)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

• Right of access: obtain a copy of your personal data.
• Right to rectification: correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: delete your personal data.
• Right to portability: receive your data in a structured format.
• Right to object: object to the processing of your data.

10. Data Deletion

You can at any time:

• Clear all local data from the extension’s Settings.
• Delete your account from the My Account page.
• Uninstall the extension, which automatically deletes all local data.

11. Security

We implement appropriate security measures:

• Encrypted communications (HTTPS/TLS).
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth.
• Secure payments via Stripe (PCI DSS certified).
• No plaintext password storage.

12. International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed by sub-processors located outside the European Economic Area (EEA):

• Supabase Inc. (United States): hosting and authentication. Transfers are governed by Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC).
• Stripe Inc. (United States): payment processing. Stripe is PCI DSS certified and uses SCC for data transfers.

We ensure that all data transfers outside the EEA benefit from appropriate safeguards under GDPR (Article 46).

13. Affiliate Links

DealFury participates in the Amazon Associates programme. When you click on a product link to Amazon from the extension, an affiliate identifier may be added to the URL.

• No price impact: the price you pay remains the same, with or without the affiliate tag.
• Click-only: the tag is only added when you click to visit the retailer, never during deal detection.
• Revenue: affiliate commissions help fund the development and maintenance of the extension.
• Transparency: no other affiliate programme is currently used.

14. Changes

We may update this privacy policy. In case of material changes, we will notify you via the extension. The last updated date is indicated at the top of this page.
